Our Residential Program is our core offering - we aspire to be the best in supportive housing and continue to challenge ourselves to grow in our services and programming to meet the needs of our diverse Resident family.
Residential Program
Your Healthcare:
Prior to your arrival, we can provide you with a consultation with a member of our Staff to discuss any concerns you may have regarding your personal care. Personal care is provided by Health Care Aides (HCA’s) and Nursing Staff, both which are available 24 hours a day. The HCA’s can assist you with dressing, bathing and any other personal care needs required. Our Team will communicate with your Family Doctor, the in-house Doctor and Nurse Practitioner, and, any other community support services that are necessary for your well-being. The Team will also arrange for any medical or other appointments that you may require. We provide pharmaceutical care in conjunction with Remedys Rx Pharmacy, or the pharmacy of your choice. The Nursing Staff is responsible for dispensing all medications. The in-house Doctor & Nurse Practitioner visit regularly to address any Resident’s concerns. If you choose to maintain your own physician we will coordinate your care with them.

Safety & Security:
An Emergency Call System is provided in all Residents rooms. The Emergency Call System is interfaced to call panels at both the Nurse’s station and the Administration office to give prompt notification of an emergency to the staff.

A security camera system is located at all entrances and back exits as well as the parking lots. This system is a digital system that streams 24/7 to the Nursing Station and also can be reviewed by Administration. Entry to our home is through permission buzzer access.

All Rooms are equipped with smoke detectors, as well all hallways and common areas. The detectors are linked to a callboard that when activated sounds an alarm. This is a sprinklered building. On your first day at Victoria Manor, you will receive an orientation package that provides Fire and Emergency evacuation materials. A member of the Administration Team will discuss these with you. Fire Drills are held regularly.

Activation Programming:
Victoria Manor believes that all our Residents have a fundamental right to enjoy an enhanced quality of life through planned activities and programming. The activities environment should support all of our Residents in the use of their full potential and encourage a sense of pride and accomplishment through such programs. Our activities should provide for the optimal integration of family, friends and significant others into the daily lives of our Residents. We must strive to give our Residents choices that foster a sense of purpose and that allow them to engage in activities that are relevant to an independent lifestyle. Each of our three floors offers a community television viewing lounge, three situated around cozy fireplaces. Televisions are also available for community viewing in other areas in the home. Each month a Birthday Party is held to honour the Residents with a birthday in that month. These special occasions are accompanied by visiting artists and entertainers. We promote all holidays with decorations and festive activities. In addition to holiday celebrations we have yearly family barbecues and other events. Our Activity Room is open to all Residents for their enjoyment. Residents are encouraged to invite guests in and utilize the Activity Room, perhaps for euchre or other card game tournaments. For even greater relaxation and enjoyment we have a quaint courtyard in the center of our residence that allows for container gardening or just taking in the sun.

Dietary:
We offer three nutritionally balanced meals and two snacks each day. There is a choice of two lunch and dinner entrees and a variety of choices from the breakfast menu. Meal times are posted on the menu, as well as being announced over the public announcement system at each sitting. If you would like a guest to join you for dinner we are happy to include them in our meal service for a nominal fee.

Housekeeping:
To ensure your comfort each week our staff will perform a thorough cleaning of your room as well as providing you with fresh linens and towels. You are free to use your own linens and towels in place of those provided.
Laundry:
For your convenience the staff will collect your laundry to be washed and returned to you. You will be given a laundry schedule when you arrive. Individual laundry bags are provided for Residents and clothes will be labeled with the Resident’s name to ensure accuracy in returning the laundered clothes.
Maintenance:
Our Maintenance Technician is available to tend to any repairs needed in your room, as well as for furniture placement, picture hanging, etc. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for annual inspections and our preventative maintenance programs.

Mobility Devices:
A Mobility Device clinic is held weekly.

Pet Friendly:
We support pets in our home as a means to a healthier, happier life. Pet ownership is conditional on a Resident’s ability to care for the pet physically and financially and is assessed on a case by case situation.

Administrative Supports:
Income tax clinics, trust account management, income security; we are here to help you through it.
​
Additional Services:
Footcare, Haircare, Physiotherapy and other supplementary services are available services are provided regularly.
